Colin Stranahan is among the most sought-after drummers in the world working with such artists as Kurt Rosenwinkel, Jonathan Kreisberg, Fred Hersch, Terence Blanchard, Dave Kikoski, Kevin Hays, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and many others. Colin was a winner of the 2012 Thelonious Monk Drum Competition. Colin currently leads a trio with his lifelong musical companions Rick Rosato and Glenn Zaleski. They perform extensively on the NYC live scene. He is a member of Real Feels with Gilad Hekselman and John Raymond. Colin is a member of Jonathan Kreisberg’s Quartet and they tour extensively all over the world.
Glenn Zaleski is one of the most in-demand pianists on the New York City jazz scene. Originally from Boylston, MA, Glenn has made a name for himself playing with the likes of Ravi Coltrane, Lage Lund, and Ari Hoenig. He is a Sunnyside Records recording artist, Thelonious Monk Piano Competition semifinalist, as well as a finalist for the 2011 APA Cole Porter Fellowship in Jazz. His albums have received international acclaim and he is one of the most unique voices of his generation on the piano. He currently performs extensively in the NY Scene with his lifelong companions Rick Rosato and Colin Stranahan and recently recorded a Live album at the Jazz Standard in NYC.
Saxophonist and Musicologist Dr. Lukas Gabric has performed at the most notable venues around the globe and has published musicological articles and 6 method books. He recorded 3 CDs as a leader and collaborated on 7 further projects such as Derek Bermel’s Grammy-nominated Migrations. Dr. Gabric was a member of the European Generations Unit—an ensemble consisting of winners of the Swiss Generations Competition. In 2013 Dr. Gabric was a semifinalist in the Thelonious Monk Competition in Washington D.C. and received the Best Soloist and Audience Choice Awards at the Getxo Jazz Festival in Spain in 2014. His composition “Fire Dance” was awarded an ASCAP Herb Alpert Award in 2016. Dr. Gabric teaches saxophone at Juilliard MAP. For his EMM masterclasses he shares his insights on the mastery of sound and tone production, open triads, how to make the most of your material, Coltrane changes, saxophone technique, and rhythm changes.
